Cunnersdorf is a rural district in the east of the Saxon capital Dresden . It is located in the district of the same name and belongs to the village of Schönfeld-Weißig .

geography

Cunnersdorf is 10 km east of Dresden city center, the inner old town , in the Schönfeld highlands . The village corridors extend over flat hills to the Helfenberger Grund in the west. The location itself is at a height of about 280  m above sea level. NN and clearly exceeds the bottom of the Elbe in the Elbe valley ; the Dresden Elbe slopes are only 2 km further south-west. Cunnersdorf extends largely in a flat basin of the Keppbach . To protect against flooding , which is the main threat on the Keppbach after heavy local rain , piped sections of the brook were exposed in Cunnersdorf and several retention basins were built.

The district of Cunnersdorf has a village character. The townscape is characterized by two ponds in the center of the village along today's Gönnsdorfer Straße . In addition, numerous historic farmhouses have been preserved, including three and four-sided farms . On the edge of the local area, which is completely surrounded by extensive, agriculturally used areas, several housing estates were built. Neighboring districts are the Dresden districts of Weißig in the north, Schönfeld in the east and Gönnsdorf in the west. In the south , Rockau, in the Helfenberg district, borders with Eichbusch . Cunnersdorf belongs to the statistical district Gönnsdorf / Pappritz .

The most important street in Cunnersdorf is Gönnsdorfer Straße , which , coming from Bühlau as Kreisstraße 6212 via Quohren and Gönnsdorf, continues through the center of Cunnersdorf in the direction of Schönfeld. From it branches off with the Helfenberger Weg via Helfenberg to Rockau. The other named streets in Cunnersdorf are called Nordstraße , Alter Eichbuscher Weg , Mastenweg , Am Grund and Zum Südblick (see list of streets and squares in Cunnersdorf ). In the north of the corridor, the Hornweg is the remains of the old long-distance traffic route from Dresden to Stolpen , which today runs further north as the B 6 . Another special feature is the Alter Bahndamm cycle and hiking trail , which runs on the still existing track of the disused Dürrröhrsdorf – Weißig railway line , which leads from Weißig via Cunnersdorf, Schönfeld, Schullwitz and Eschdorf to Wünschendorf . Public transport in Cunnersdorf is the bus routes 98B, 226, 227 and 228 operated by the transport service provider Müller Busreisen .

The forest hoof-like street perch village of Cunnersdorf, which was equipped with narrow strips similar to a win , was founded, probably in the 12th century in connection with the German East Settlement ; it is probably a little younger than its neighboring towns. It was first mentioned in a document in 1350 as Kunradsdorf . The place name is of German origin and refers to Konrad , the name of the local locator (see Cunnersdorf bei Bannewitz and Cunnersdorf bei Glashütte). In 1378 the place is called Kunstorf or Conradisdorff . The place name then developed in the 15th century via Kunerstorff and Conirstorff to the forms Conradsdorff and Kommerßdorff , which are guaranteed for 1477. The current spelling of the district appears for the first time in 1657. To distinguish it from other villages of the same name in the Kingdom of Saxony , it was given the addition of Helfenberg in the 19th century , which referred to the seat of the landlord.

From 1477 Cunnersdorf was under the Helfenberg manor , whose owners exercised the manorial rule over the villages in the surrounding area. The Cunnersdorfer had in addition to the compulsory labor for the manor and to the Margrave of Meissen called Forest oats to make, which was a tax for the use of forests. In 1530 five ponds used for fish farming were mentioned in Cunnersdorf. The main source of income for the inhabitants, however, was agriculture . The village is and was in the parish and in the school district of Schönfeld, the central location of the highlands. However, since it was itself off the main road to Bautzen, it was relatively insignificant. Administratively it belonged initially to the castrum and later to the office or the administrative authority of Dresden .

Richard Prietzel, one of the Cunnersdorfer new farmers, had previously been expelled from Silesia .

After the manorial rights had expired, Cunnersdorf became an independent rural community , the total area of ​​which in 1900 was about 155 hectares. The Gasthof Cunnersdorf has existed since 1865 and was enlarged in 1886 through a renovation. In 1908 the place got a connection to the railway line Dürrröhrsdorf – Weißig , which at that time passed immediately to the east and which was served until 1951. Nevertheless, there was no economic upturn in Cunnersdorf. After the Second World War , as part of the land reform carried out at that time, the large estates in Cunnersdorf were distributed to two new farmers and six old farmers with little land. The subsequent collectivization resulted in a relocation of production from the town to the LPG founded in 1960 , which joined the Bühlauer LPG together with others in 1971. Meanwhile, the number of commuters to Dresden increased.

On January 1, 1994, Cunnersdorf merged with other communities in the surrounding area to form Schönfeld-Weißig . When the district of Dresden was dissolved on January 1, 1996, it became the district of Saxon Switzerland . Exactly three years later it was incorporated into Dresden as part of Schönfeld-Weißig .
