- Berlin / Germany : At the 20th presentation of the European Film Prize , Cristian Mungius' drama triumphs in the categories "Film" and "Director" for 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days . Further prices go u. a. to director and screenwriter Fatih Akin for the work On the Other Side as well as to the cameraman Frank Griebe and to the production designer Uli Hanisch for their work in the work Perfume - The Story of a Murderer by director Tom Tykwer .

- Moscow / Russia : The United Russia party , for which Russian President Vladimir Putin is running as the top candidate, wins 64.3% of the vote in the parliamentary elections . Putin previously stated that he wanted to become prime minister as soon as he found a “decent person” to succeed him in the presidency. The person who will be appointed to the office of president in the future is still unclear; the president has always been sworn in in May.
Monday 3rd December 2007
- Hanover / Germany : At the 21st party congress of the CDU , the delegates decide on a new basic program . In its preamble it is stated that the CDU is the " People's Party of the Middle ". In the program, the Federal Republic is referred to as the so-called " integration country ". Leading media interprets this word as a declaration of intent by the party to promote immigration more strongly.

- Jawalaa / Iraq : Seven people died in a suicide attack in front of a police station northeast of Baghdad . 25 other people are injured.
- Wellington / New Zealand : Despite the great geographical distance, the country, like Australia five years earlier , ratifies the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education in the European Region , with which higher education entrance qualifications are mutually recognized by all contracting states.

- Niederfinow / Germany : The Federal Chamber of Engineers is awarding the title “ Historic Landmark of Civil Engineering in Germany ” for the first time . The first building to be awarded is the Niederfinow ship lift , which went into operation in 1934 .
- Riga / Latvia : After demonstrations and protests, the Latvian Prime Minister Aigars Kalvītis resigns from office.

- Cape Canaveral / United States : The planned start of the US space shuttle Atlantis for the STS-122 mission will only be postponed to Friday, later to Sunday and finally to January 2, 2008 due to problems with the space shuttle's fuel tank . The aim of the mission is to bring the European Space Agency's Columbus space laboratory to the International Space Station .

- Stockholm / Sweden : Percy Schmeiser receives the Right Livelihood Award (“Alternative Nobel Prize”) as one of this year's winners . The organization is honoring his longstanding opposition to the business practices of the seed manufacturer Monsanto .
- Wiesbaden / Germany : " Climate catastrophe " as a name for the consequences of global warming is the word of the year for the German language society in Germany .

- Lisbon / Portugal : After seven years, leaders from Africa and the European Union will meet again in the Portuguese capital . In addition to the topic of human rights, issues of trade, the environment, immigration and security are also on the agenda. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown stayed away from the meeting in protest at the participation of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe , who is not allowed to enter the EU. On the sidelines of the event, activists call for more attention to be paid to the crisis in Darfur, Sudan . The organization Reporters Without Borders had already called for Eritrea's President Isayas Afewerki to be declared a persona non grata because of human rights violations in the African country .

- Oruro , Sucre / Bolivia : The members of the Constituent Assembly adopt the new constitution of Bolivia after a fifteen-hour session under military protection . Members of the opposition party Poder Democrático Social will not take part in the vote. Many residents and sympathizers of the city of Sucre are protesting against the constitution, as Sucre will not regain its status as capital and seat of government .

- Berlin / Germany : According to a study by the Federal Office for Radiation Protection , the incidence of cancer in small children near a nuclear power plant is increasing .
- Buenos Aires / Argentina : Cristina Fernández de Kirchner takes over the office of Argentine President.
- Leipzig / Germany : At 3:40 am, the Leonie tunnel boring machine in the Leipzig City Tunnel construction project reached another stage with the breakthrough to the “Markt” station.
- Moscow / Russia : The governing parties propose the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitri Medvedev from the United Russia party to succeed Vladimir Putin in the presidential office . Medvedev's official candidacy and his happy inauguration are considered a matter of form in view of the developments in Russian politics that have been observed so far.

- Algiers / Algeria : At least 40 people die in the explosion of two explosive devices, including United Nations employees . More than 170 other people are injured. The terrorist organization al-Qaeda is committed to the attacks .

- Bern / Switzerland : In the election of ministers ( Federal Council elections ), the previous Federal Councilor for Justice and well-known SVP politician Christoph Blocher does not find a majority in parliament. In the second ballot he was defeated by his party colleague Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf with 115: 125 votes, contrary to the proposal of the SVP MPs. The SVP parliamentary group threatens that the SVP to be won in October will pursue opposition politics in future and will not support the two SVP ministers. Despite high pressure, Widmer-Schlumpf, who was not a candidate, accepts her election on December 13th. The voting out of Blocher is seen as a reaction to his xenophobic election campaign.
- Colorado Springs / United States : Five people are killed in a rampage in the New Life Church .
- Strasbourg / France : The Presidents of the Parliament , the Commission and the Council of the European Union (EU) sign a Charter of Fundamental Rights , which stipulates which “ EU fundamental rights ” the member states of the Union must grant their nationals. It should be legally binding in the near future. In December 2000 the EU proclaimed a “Charter of Fundamental Rights”.

- Trenton / United States : New Jersey becomes the 14th US state to abolish the death penalty . This is the first time in 40 years that the death penalty has been removed from a state's constitution.

- Antalya / Turkey : After being released from pre-trial detention for eight months, the German Marco Weiss travels back to his family in Germany.
- Bali / Indonesia : The United States is hindering stricter guidelines for improved climate protection .
- London / United Kingdom : As a result of the mortgage crisis , the British government agrees to nationalize the investment bank Northern Rock in order to prevent it from going bankrupt.
- Washington, DC / United States : The United States passes a law requiring the automotive industry to reduce the average fuel consumption of its vehicles to the equivalent of 6.7 liters per 100 kilometers.

- Düsseldorf / Germany : Several thousand people demonstrate for peace in the border area of Iraq , Iran and Turkey . The majority of them are Kurds and are demanding the release of the leader of the PKK terrorist organization, Abdullah Öcalan, who has been imprisoned in Turkey . The police take individual participants into custody for violations of the right of assembly.
- Islamabad / Pakistan : The six-week state of emergency ends.

- Erbil / Iraq : Type F 16 multi-purpose fighter aircraft of the Turkish Air Force bomb positions of the militants of the Kurdish party PKK in northern Iraq. According to Turkish sources, the targets are the headquarters of the militant part of this organization.
- Yokohama / Japan : AC Milan from Italy wins the Club World Cup in football with a 4-2 final victory against the Argentinian club Atleticó Boca Juniors from Buenos Aires .

- Kiev / Ukraine : More than two months after the early parliamentary election selects the parliament , the former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko from the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc again prime minister. She advocates a course of rapprochement with the European Union . Ethnic Russians among Ukrainian citizens almost unanimously oppose this course , while a large majority of ethnic Ukrainians support it.

- Seoul / South Korea : Lee Myung-bak wins the 2007 South Korean presidential election with 48.6% of the vote .
- Yaren / Nauru The Nauruan parliament says President Ludwig Scotty , the distrust and sets it off with 10 votes to 7. The new president and at the same time head of government and head of state will be the former weightlifter Marcus Stephen , who will be sworn in and will appoint his new cabinet on the same day.

- Gandhinagar / India : The Bharatiya Janata Party of Chief Minister Narendra Modi to win by two-thirds of the seats the parliamentary elections in the state of Gujarat .
- Tashkent / Uzbekistan : In the presidential election, incumbent Islom Karimov received 88.1% of the vote.

- Nairobi / Kenya : A head-to-head race between President Mwai Kibaki and his challenger Raila Odinga is expected in the parliamentary and presidential elections .
- Rawalpindi / Pakistan : The opposition leader and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto dies in a suicide attack at an election rally. In addition to her, at least 20 other people are killed and the same number injured. As a result, there are riots across the country.

- Nairobi / Kenya : The incumbent President Mwai Kibaki is declared the winner of the presidential elections with around 230,000 votes ahead of his challenger Raila Odinga . For days there have been clashes between members of the Kikuyu ethnic group and the Luo ethnic group , in which at least 13 people have died so far.

- Darfur / Sudan : A hybrid mission of the African Union and the United Nations (UNAMID) is starting in the west of Sudan , which aims to protect the civilian population from attacks in the Darfur conflict . The UNAMID mission replaces the African Union mission in Sudan , during which the situation did not ease.
- Thimphu / Bhutan : For the first time in the country's history, there are free upper house elections. More than 40 candidates stand for the 15 seats to be awarded.
