Ephraim King Wilson (politician, 1771)

Ephraim King Wilson (born September 15, 1771 in Snow Hill , Worcester County , Province of Maryland , † January 2, 1834 ibid) was an American politician . He was the father of William Sydney Wilson , a Confederate politician and officer in the Confederate Army , and Ephraim King Wilson , a United States Senator .

Wilson graduated from Princeton College in 1790 , studied law, and was then admitted to the bar in 1792. He then opened his own law firm in Snow Hill. Years later he decided to embark on a political career. He was appointed as Jackson - Democrat in the 20th and the 21st US Congress voted, where he eighth electoral district of Maryland represented. Wilson remained there from March 4, 1827 to March 3, 1831. After a failed nomination for the 22nd US Congress , he returned to his work in his legal practice, which he pursued until his death in 1834. He was then buried in the cemetery of the Makemie Memorial Presbyterian Church in Snow Hill.
