The one-day race Paris – Roubaix 2013 was the 111th edition of the cycling classic and took place on Sunday, April 7th, 2013. The race was part of the UCI WorldTour .
The race led from Compiègne , around 80 kilometers north of Paris , to Roubaix , where it ended in the Vélodrome André-Pétrieux . The entire route was 254.5 kilometers long and led over 27 Pavé sectors with a length of 52.6 kilometers. 198 drivers started, of which 118 were able to place. The winner Fabian Cancellara completed the race with an average speed of 44.190 km / h .
The weather was cold and cloudy, the pavé sectors dry and dusty. The peloton stayed together until 50 kilometers from the finish . Cancellara took the lead and picked up the pace so that a few kilometers later 15 drivers were ahead. While other drivers moved forward around 35 kilometers from the finish, Cancellara drove back to his team's support vehicle, which was interpreted as a deception for the other drivers. Another four kilometers later, however, he picked up the pace, Sep Vanmarcke and Stijn Vandenbergh were still about half a minute ahead of him. With 19 kilometers to go, Cancellara and Zdeněk Štybar caught up with the leading duo. At the Carrefour de l'Arbre, Štybar and Vandenbergh collided with spectators standing on the edge, so that Cancellara and Vanmarcke were now leading alone. Cancellara launched an attack four kilometers from the finish to shake Vanmarcke off, but it did not succeed. Finally, the two drivers turned into the cycling track together , where Vanmarcke put on the sprint, but was overtaken by Fabian Cancellara, who won by one bike length ahead. For Cancellara it was the third victory at Paris – Roubaix after 2006 and 2010 .
