Sainte-Croix is a French municipality with 87 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Bergerac and the canton of Lalinde (until 2015: canton of Beaumont-du-Périgord ).
The community is also known locally as Sainte-Croix-de-Beaumont .
The name in the Occitan language is Senta Crotz ( German Heiligkreuz ).
geography
Sainte-Croix is located about 30 km southeast of Bergerac in the Bergeracois area of the historic province of Périgord on the southern edge of the department.

Sainte-Croix is located in the catchment area of the Dordogne river .
The commune is irrigated by the Couze , a tributary of the Dordogne, and its tributaries,
- the Véronne and
- the Vouludre and its tributary,
- the Ruisseau de Maine Blanc.
Population development
After the beginning of the records, the population rose in the first half of the 19th century to a high of around 620. In the following period, a phase of stagnation set in until the 1970s, the number of inhabitants with short recovery phases to a level of around 90 inhabitants, which is still held today.
