Sainte-Radegonde is a French municipality with 62 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Bergerac and the canton Sud-Bergeracois (until 2015: canton Issigeac ).
The name in the Occitan language is Senta Radegonda and is derived from the holy Radegundis .

Sainte-Radegonde is located about 25 km south-east of Bergerac in the Bergeracois area of the historic Périgord province on the southern border with the neighboring Lot-et-Garonne department .

The coat of arms can be interpreted as follows: the lion is reminiscent of the former English bastide , the stars of the cloak that St. Radegundis wore according to legend, the three irises of the symbols of the French queen.
Population development
After records began, the number of inhabitants rose to a high of around 390 in the first half of the 19th century. In the following period, a phase of stagnation set in until the turn of the millennium, which increased the number of inhabitants to a level of around 60 with short recovery phases which is held to this day.
