Faurilles is a French municipality with 36 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Bergerac and the canton Sud-Bergeracois (until 2015: canton Issigeac ).
The name in the Occitan language is Faurilhas ( German small forges ) and goes back to the Latin "fabrilia" ( German forge, place where the iron is worked ).

Faurilles is located about 25 km southeast of Bergerac in the Bergeracois region of the historic province of Périgord on the southern edge of the department.

Faurilles lies in the catchment area of the Garonne River .
The Bournègue , a right tributary of the Dropt , crosses the territory of the commune along with its tributaries,

history
In the Middle Ages , the parish gradually developed. The church was built in the 13th century, the village was first mentioned in the scriptures in the 14th century.
