Mairie Urval

Urval is a commune with 114 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (2015 Aquitaine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bergerac and the municipal association of Bastides Dordogne-Périgord, founded in 2012 . The inhabitants call themselves Urvalais .

geography

Urval is located in the Périgord Noir region , about 42 kilometers east of Bergerac . The village of Urval is hidden in the almost 100 m deep valley of the Ruisseau du Peyrat just before its entry into the wide river valley of the Dordogne . In the very wooded 13.38 km² community area, several hamlets are spread over clearing islands, including La Salvagie, La Pelinque and La Fauri . At 245 m above sea level, the highest point in the municipality is located on the southeastern border. Urval is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Siorac-en-Périgord in the north and north-east, Monplaisant in the east, Saint-Pardoux-et-Vielvic in the south-east, Bouillac in the south-west and Le Buisson-de-Cadouin in the west and north-west.

history

In 1974 the municipalities of Cadouin, Le Buisson-Cussac, Paleyrac and Urval were merged to form the new municipality of Le Buisson-de-Cadouin. The municipality of Urval regained its independence in 1989.

Economy and Infrastructure

Six farms are located in Urval (grain cultivation, walnut plantation, cattle breeding)

Immediately north of Urval, the D 25 road runs from Bergerac to Sarlat-la-Canéda . The next motorway junction is 50 kilometers north of Urval near Périgueux on the A 89 autoroute from Bordeaux to Lyon . The station in the neighboring municipality of Siorac-en-Périgord is on the Niversac – Agen railway line .
