Bouillac is a French municipality with 122 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Dordogne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Bergerac and the canton Lalinde (until 2015: canton Le Buisson-de-Cadouin ).

The name in the Occitan language is Bolhac and goes back to a country estate in Gallo-Roman times that belonged to a certain "Bullius" or "Billius".

The inhabitants are called bouillacois and bouillacoises .

Bouillac is located about 35 km southeast of Bergerac and about 30 km southwest of Sarlat-la-Canéda in the historic province of Périgord on the southern edge of the department.

Bouillac Castle

It is the former domicile of the Chantal family. The property was mentioned as a castle in the 19th century. It has an imposing square tower with a hipped roof . Today the castle is privately owned and not open to the public.

Bourdoux Castle

It impresses with its medieval appearance with a curtain wall and numerous towers. The castle has architectural elements from both the Middle Ages and the Renaissance with its battlements , machicolations , twin windows and ducars . The fully restored castle is now privately owned and not open to the public.
