20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Eric Clapton is a compilation album by British rock musician Eric Clapton and is part of the Millennium Collection series by Universal .
It was released on June 15, 2004 under the Polydor Records label and was produced by Glyn Johns and Tom Dowd . The album contains eleven tracks that Clapton released as a solo artist and with his band Derek and the Dominos in the 1970s.
Reception and chart successes
Critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine of the music website Allmusic describes the compilation as an "excellent distillation" of the best Clapton songs from the 1970s. Although some hits are missing from the album, they will not be missed, continued Erlewine. Finally, he noted that the compilation was "complete and enjoyable". He awarded 4.5 of the 5 possible rating units for the album. Common Sense Media rated the album's quality as 5 out of 5 stars.
The compilation album was # 4 on the Billboard Top Pop Catalog and # 230 on the Billboard Top Internet Albums chart. The album also ranked 66th on the Billboard 200 .
