Cadillac is a French commune with 2,789 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It is the main town (chef-lieu) of the canton of L'Entre-deux-Mers in the Langon arrondissement . The parish of Cadillac used to be part of the county of Bénauges .

Viticulture
The former, medieval Bastide Cadillac is located on the orographic right bank of the Garonne and gives the Cadillac wine region its name. Excellent white sweet wines are produced here within the Bordeaux wine-growing region .
Attractions
The castle of Cadillac was built in the 17th century at the instigation of Jean Louis de Nogaret de La Valette , duc d'Épernon . It is popularly known as the " Fontainebleau Castle of the Gironde". It has been a monument historique since 1862.
