The Copa del Generalísimo 1947/48 was the 44th edition of the Spanish soccer cup competition , which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey .
The competition started on September 14, 1947 and ended with the final on July 4, 1948 in the Nuevo Estadio Chamartín in Madrid . The defending champion of the cup competition was Real Madrid . Sevilla FC won the title with a 4-1 win in the final against Celta Vigo .

Vigo goalkeeper Francisco Simón was injured in Mariano Uceda's 2-1 opening goal and was replaced by midfielder Gabriel Alonso as substitutions were not allowed at the time. In the 83rd minute, Pahiño was sent off for assault. In the 87th minute, Juan Areitio also had to leave the field due to an injury. Accordingly, Celta Vigo ended the game with eight players.
