Football League First Division 1973/74

The Football League First Division 1974/75 was the 76th season of the highest English football league . It began on August 17, 1974 and ended on April 29, 1975.

Derby County won their second English championship two points ahead of last year's runner-up Liverpool FC . Of the three promoted Middlesbrough FC , Luton Town and Carlisle United only the club from Middlesbrough could hold the class; Luton and Carlisle, however, had next to Chelsea the aisle in the Second Division compete. These three clubs should be replaced in the following season by the three second division promoted Manchester United , Norwich City and Aston Villa .

A total of 472 players were used, with Derby County with 16 the fewest and Newcastle United with 29 the most players in league games. 105 newcomers opposed 89 footballers, who last came into play in the 1974/75 season. 32 players were able to play all 42 league games of their club.

    The Derby County's championship team

The following table lists all players who were used in a league game for Derby County during the 1974/75 season. It must be noted that in English football a minimum number of games is usually required in order to receive the official championship medal. Since there was uncertainty about the specific regulation before the introduction of the Premier League, all players who presumably did not receive a championship medal due to their low contribution were marked with an asterisk (*). The number of missions and the goals scored are given in brackets.
