Komyschuwacha (Ukrainian Комишуваха ; Russian Камышеваха / Kamyshevacha ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine with about 2,300 inhabitants.

geography

The place in Luhansk Oblast is located on the Komyschuwacha River (Комишуваха), about 9 kilometers north of the Rajon capital Popasna and 63 kilometers west of the Oblast capital Luhansk . The center of the village was originally on the river, but was relocated there in the last century with the construction of a train station in the west of the village.

Komyschuwacha forms administratively together with the villages of Olexandropillja (Олександропілля), Wiktoriwka (Вікторівка) and Wyskrywa (Вискрива) as well as the settlements of Druzhba крико and NГекрико (Глексанко) , NГекрекор (Кружба) .

history

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1853, and since 1938 it has had the status of an urban-type settlement. In the course of the war in Ukraine , fighting broke out in the village on August 12, 2014, but the separatist troops of the Lugansk People's Republic were driven out of the village again. Since then, the place has been close to the front line to the separatist areas and is repeatedly the target of rocket and artillery attacks.
