The 3rd presentation of the US American Satellite Awards , which the International Press Academy (IPA) awards each year in various film and media categories, took place on Wednesday, February 17, 1999 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles . Films and series from 1998 were honored at the 3rd Satellite Awards .
