The Bundesautobahn 270 (abbreviation: BAB 270 ) - short form: Autobahn 270 (abbreviation: A 270 ) - is a motorway that is almost entirely in the northern part of Bremen . It begins in the district of Blumenthal and runs for about eleven kilometers in a south-easterly direction to the major traffic junction Bremen-Nord (colloquially also known as "Ihlpohler Kreisel") on the border between the Bremen district of Burgdamm and Ihlpohl in Lower Saxony . There it merges into the federal highway 74 in the direction of Osterholz-Scharmbeck and is linked to the federal highway 27 leading over the junction as an elevated road . However, this is not a motorway triangle , but a traffic light intersection.
The Federal Motorway 270 was created in 2001 through the rededication of a section of the Federal Highway 74 , the so-called "Lesumschnellweg". This section also had the designation B 74n . After this rededication, because of the route through dense development and in recognition of the lower traffic volume, no expansion measures were carried out, so that no hard shoulder is available in large parts and a speed limit of 80 km / h is set. From 2007 to the end of 2009, the 270 federal motorway was extended as the B 74 by several kilometers to the northwest and continued into the Farge district , where the route ends after a level crossing with barrier at the ferry entrance. The existing ramps for an intersection-free exit from the A 27 to the A 270 were not closed with a bridge bracket since commercial traffic to industrial companies has largely ceased to exist.
