history

The name of the place refers to a Henricus de Dahle who lived here in a feudal court in the 13th century.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Steinbach , proves that the residential area was already a Freihof in 1715 , which is labeled as Dahle . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Thal . It shows that the place was part of the Honschaft Miebach in the parish of Overath at that time .

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1825 as Thal . The Prussian first recording from 1845 shows the residential area under the name Dahl . From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is regularly recorded as Dahl on measuring table sheets .

In 1822, 20 people lived in the place, which was categorized as a courtyard and after the collapse of the Napoleonic administration and its replacement, it belonged to the Overath mayor in the Mülheim am Rhein district . For the year 1830 23 inhabitants are given for the place called Hof. In 1845, according to the survey of the government district of Cöln, the place called Dahl and categorized as a hamlet had six residential buildings with 27 inhabitants at that time, all of them Catholic denominations. The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine Province listed Dahl 1871 with one house and four residents. In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland from 1888, five houses with 22 inhabitants are given for Dahl . In 1895 the place had four houses with ten inhabitants and belonged denominationally to the Catholic parish of Marialinden, in 1905 two houses and eleven inhabitants are given.
