The Internazionali BNL d'Italia 2017 was a tennis tournament that took place in Rome from May 15 to 21, 2017 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2017 and was played outdoors on a clay court. This season it was the fifth of nine tournaments in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 category .

Last year's winner in singles was Andy Murray , in doubles it was the brothers Bob and Mike Bryan .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 56 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 24 pairs. The eight top seeded players in singles or pairings in doubles each received a bye into the second round.

qualification

The qualification took place on May 13th and 14th, 2017. From 28 participants, seven qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There were also four lucky losers, as Nick Kyrgios , Philipp Kohlschreiber , Marcos Baghdatis and Ivo Karlović withdrew their participation.
