history
State election in Lower Austria 2018
After the state elections in Lower Austria in 2018 , the FPÖ was able to win a second mandate from the Stronach team in the Federal Council. The previous FPÖ Federal Councilor Ina Aigner moved to the Landtag, and Andreas Spanring and Michael Bernard were new FPÖ Federal Councilors . ÖVP federal councilors remained Martin Preineder , Sonja Zwazl , Eduard Köck and Sandra Kern , while Karl Bader , Marlene Zeidler-Beck and Andrea Wagner were newly delegated to the Lower Austrian ÖVP . The SPÖ is still represented in the Federal Council by René Pfister and now with Doris Hahn and Eva Prischl . Roman Janacek , Angela Stöckl-Wolkerstorfer and Andreas Pum left the Federal Council . Gerald Zelina ( Team Stronach , later without a parliamentary group) are no longer members of the Federal Council .
After the state elections in 2018, Rupert Dworak announced his resignation as a member of the state parliament in order to take care of the agendas of the Lower Austrian association of municipal representatives in addition to his role as mayor. On June 28, 2018, Christian Samwald took over the direct mandate from Dworak , René Pfister took over the state parliament mandate that became available. Andrea Kahofer moved into the Federal Council instead of Pfister.
State election in Tyrol 2018
After the state elections in Tyrol in 2018 , the Greens lost a Federal Council mandate and thus their club status and club funding in parliament. The mandate of the Greens went to the FPÖ, the ÖVP has three seats as before, the SPÖ one. The previous Federal Councilor Sonja Ledl-Rossmann (ÖVP) moved to the state parliament. The ÖVP sent Peter Raggl , Elisabeth Pfurtscheller and Klara Neurauter to the regional chamber, the SPÖ Stefan Zaggl and the FPÖ Christoph Steiner . Anneliese Junker , Andreas Köll , Hans-Peter Bock and Nicole Schreyer left the Federal Council.
State election in Carinthia 2018
After the state elections in Carinthia in 2018 , a Federal Council mandate moved from the ÖVP to the SPÖ. Thus, of the total of four Carinthian mandates in the regional chamber, three went to the SPÖ (plus one) and one to the FPÖ, the ÖVP lost its previous mandate. The Carinthian FPÖ mandate was last held by the non-attached Jutta Arztmann , who had left the FPÖ. In addition to Günther Novak, the SPÖ sent Ferlach's mayor Ingo Appé and the candidate from the pensioners' association Gerhard Leitner to the Federal Council, while the previous Federal Councilor Ana Blatnik moved to the state parliament. Christian Poglitsch (ÖVP) left the Federal Council. Josef Ofner joined the Federal Council for the FPÖ . With the three federal councilors from Carinthia, the SPÖ parliamentary group in the federal council has 21 seats, more than a third of the total of 61 seats. The SPÖ could thus block decisions by the federal government in the Bundesrat.
State election in Salzburg 2018
After the state elections in Salzburg in 2018 , the ÖVP won a seat in the regional chamber, there was no change for the SPÖ. The Greens lost a seat in the Federal Council, with the remaining two Federal Council members they also lost the right to inquire with the Federal Government. The Green Federal Councilor Heidelinde Reiter resigned from the Federal Council. The mandate of Federal Councilor Dietmar Schmittner ( FPS ) went back to the FPÖ, the Federal Council mandate of the Salzburg Freedom Party took over Marlies Steiner-Wieser . At the ÖVP, Andrea Eder-Gitschthaler kept her Federal Council mandate , the second ÖVP Federal Council mandate went to Silvester Gfrerer . Michael Wanner kept the SPÖ mandate .
