The Segunda División 2012/13 (officially Liga Adelante ) is the 82nd season of the Spanish second division. The season began on August 17, 2012 and ends on June 23, 2013 with the final of the play-offs. The champions became FC Elche .
Before the season
The 22 teams met twice on 42 match days. The two best teams went straight to the Primera División . The teams in places three to six determined the third promoted team in the play-offs. Reserve teams were not eligible for promotion. The last four clubs were relegated.
Relegated from the Primera División of took Villarreal , Sporting Gijon and Racing Santander in part. Moved up from the Segunda División B were Real Madrid Castilla , CD Mirandés , SD Ponferradina and CD Lugo .
