Ethiopia

In 2011, Heineken took over the former state-owned breweries Harar Brewery SC and Bedele Brewery SC.

Bedele Brewery SC

The brewery in Bedele has been in operation since 1993 and produces around 500,000 hl annually.

Kilinto Brewery SC

In 2014, Heineken opened a third brewery in Ethiopia in Kilinto. There are about 1.5 million hl per year from 200 workers. Brewed beer.

Harar Brewery SC

The brewery in Harar has existed since 1984. Today around 200 employees brew around 500,000 hl of beer.

Germany

In Germany , Heineken does not have a majority in any brewery, but has a 30% stake in the Paulaner brewery group. The 100% subsidiary Heineken Deutschland GmbH , based in Berlin, does not produce itself, but has the distribution rights for the Desperados , Heineken, Strongbow Cider , Bulmers and Murphy’s brands in Germany.

Ecuador

In May 2019, Heineken acquired Biela y Bebidas del Ecuador SA , which operates a brewery in the city of Guayaquil .

Ivory Coast

Since 2015, there has been a joint venture with Brassivoire between Heineken and the French CFAO. Heineken holds the majority with 51%. In 2016, the first beer was brewed at the location in the PK 24 industrial zone near Abidjan . The brewery with a capacity of 1.5 million hl. employs 236 workers.

France

(Adelshoffen brewery)

The Adelshofen brewery was founded in Schiltigheim in 1864 . In 1922 it was taken over by the Fischer brewery, also located in Schiltigheim. In 1994 600,000 hl were brewed. Two years later, Heineken took over the Fischer brewery and with it the Adelshoffen brewery. The brewery was closed in 2000.

(Brasserie de Colmar)

The brewery in Colmar was founded in 1919 when several small breweries in the city merged, including the breweries Ackerbräu, Bilger-Schmidt and Molly. In 1969 the Brasserie de Colmar became part of the brewing group L'Alsacienne de Brasserie (Albra for short). The annual production was about 135,000 hl. In 1972 Heineken took over the Albra and closed the brewery in Colmar in 1975.

Brasserie de l'Espérance

The brewery, founded in Schiltigheim in 1746 , was taken over by Heineken in the early 1970s.

The Brasserie Fischer, based in Schiltigheim, was founded in 1821, taken over by Heineken in 1996 and closed in 2009.

(Brasserie Haag)

The Haag brewery was founded in Ingwiller in 1795 . In 1947 it was bought by the Brasserie de l'Espérance and from 1969 it was part of the Albra brewing group. When Heineken took over Albra, the Haag brewery was closed in 1972.

(Brasserie Mutzig)

former Mutzig brewery

The brewery in Mutzig was founded in 1810. In 1969 the brewery became part of the Albra Group and with this in 1972 it was taken over by Heineken. When the brewery closed in 1989, the annual production was around 600,000 hectoliters.

Brasserie du Pélican

The brewery, located in Mons-en-Baroeul near Lille , was founded in 1919. In 1980 it was taken over by Groupe BGI . The brewery has belonged to Heineken since 1993. In 2012 production was around 2.5 million hectoliters.

(Brasserie de Saint-Omer)

The Saint-Omer brewery, founded in 1866, was taken over by Heineken in 1996. In 2008 the brewery was sold again to the previous owners, the Pecqueur family.

Brasserie de la Valentine

The Brasserie de la Valentine was founded in Marseille in 1821 . She has been part of Heineken since 1988. In 2012, 1.1 million hl. brewed.

Birra Comun Nuovo

In 1974 the Von Wunster brewery moved from Bergamo to Comun Nuovo . In 1995, Heineken took over the brewery, which at that time brewed around 700,000 hl of beer a year. After several investments, the brewery in Comun Nuovo is now the largest brewery in Italy. Every year, the 210 employees brew 2.3 million hl of beer.

The brewery was founded in 1865 and taken over by Heineken in 1974. Today no beer is produced in Milan , but the headquarters of Heineken Italy SpA are located here

Birra Dreher Massafra

The brewery in Massafra has belonged to Heineken since the takeover of Birra Dreher in 1974. 200 employees produce up to 2 million hectoliters per year.

Birrificio Hibu

The brewery in Burago di Molgora , founded in 2007, was taken over by Heineken in October 2017.

Birra Ichnusa

The brewery was founded in 1912. The brewery in Assemini has been part of the Heineken Group since 1986 .

Birra Messina was founded in 1923 and taken over by Heineken in 1988. The Messina brewery was shut down in 2007 and production relocated to Massafra. In 2008, Heineken sold the brewery and production resumed under the name Triscele. Triscele went bankrupt in 2011. Former employees founded the new Birrificio Messina in 2012.

Birra Moretti Pollein

The brewery was founded in 1837. Before the takeover by Heineken, the brewery was called Birra Aosta Zimmermann .

(San Giorgio di Nogaro)

The brewery was originally a Birra Moretti brewery. In 1996 this was taken over by Heineken. The location in San Giorgio di Nogaro was sold back in 1997. Today the Birra Castello produces in the brewery.

(Birra Pedavena)

The Pedavena brewery was founded in Pedavena in 1897 and taken over by Heineken in 1974. In 2004, Heineken closed the brewery. After strong public protest, the brewery was sold to Birra Castello and production resumed in 2010.

At the end of February 2018, Heineken opened its seventh Mexico brewery in Meoqui . The brewery has a capacity of six million hectoliters. The brewery's main products are the Tecate, Dos Equis and Heineken brands.

Construction of the first Heinekens brewery in Mozambique began in December 2017. The brewery in the province of Maputo went into operation in the first half of 2019 and is designed for a capacity of 800,000 hl.

Braniewo Brewery

The Braniewo brewery was founded in 1854. The brewery was sold to Grupa Żywiec for the first time in 1998. This stopped production in 2001 and sold the brewery again in 2003. In the following years production was resumed and the brewery changed hands several times. In 2008 the brewery was closed again. In 2014 the brewery was taken over by Browar Namysłów and production resumed. The brewery in Braniewo was sold again to Grupa Żywiec in 2018 together with Browar Namysłów.

Founded in 1996 by Southend Brewery , the Charleston brewery was taken over by Lagunitas in 2016. It was closed in 2017.

The Petaluma Brewery was established in 1994.
