Mychajliwka (Ukrainian Михайлівка ; Russian Михайловка / Michailowka) is an urban-type settlement in Perewalsk Raion in Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine with almost 3,000 inhabitants.

geography

The settlement is located on the east bank of the Bila , a tributary of the Luhan , the settlement council also includes the settlement of Karpaty (Карпати).

history

The settlement was first mentioned in 1787. In 1878 a listed Archangel Michael Church was built there. In the same year a village school was founded. In 1904, an underground organization secretly printed leaflets for the RSDLP in the village . In December 1917 the village fell under Soviet rule . It has had urban-type settlement status since 1938. In the German-Soviet war , 563 residents of the settlement moved to the front. 312 of them died. The survivors were awarded orders and medals.

There are monuments to Lenin and soldiers killed in World War II in the settlement .
