Track Cycling World Cup 2015/16

The UCI Track Cycling World Cup 2015/16 was held in three races between November 2015 and January 2016. The organizer is the World Cycling Federation UCI .

The placements achieved at these events determine the participation of athletes and associations in the UCI Track World Championships 2016 in London as well as for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

As part of the World Cup run in Hong Kong, it was announced from the ranks of the UCI that this season will be the last in which the World Cup will be held in its previous form. A new solution should be found for the following season that is more cost-effective for the national teams.

The race for bronze at the first run in Cali had an unusual course: The British driver Elinor Barker was ill and there was no reserve driver on site. Since the rules stipulate that four riders have to start, but only three have to cross the finish line, Barker positioned himself at the start in order to leave the cycling track immediately after the starting signal. Although there were only three of them, the British women's "foursome" was able to prevail against the team from China.
