Dommartin is a French commune with 2,576 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône and the canton of Anse . The inhabitants are called Dommartinois .
geography
Dommartin is located about eleven kilometers northwest of Lyon and is part of the Coteaux du Lyonnais wine region . Dommartin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Civrieux-d'Azergues in the north, Marcilly-d'Azergues in the northeast, Lissieu in the east and northeast, Dardilly in the southeast, La Tour-de-Salvagny in the south, Lentilly in the west and Lozanne in the northwest.
The former route nationale 6 (today D306) runs along the municipality in the northeast .
