history

In an arch between the Katelbogen district and the area west of the Laase district you can find the remains of so-called megalithic tombs from the 3rd millennium BC.

Baumgarten: In the founding document of the Rühn Cistercian convent , the place is named as Bomgarde in 1233 .
The late Gothic field stone church was built in 1233. The church tower has a substructure made of field stones, a half-timbered middle section and a four-sided pyramid helmet. In the tower there is a church tower clock with an hour bell, which is rare for Mecklenburg. The vestibule on the south side of the choir was built in the 19th century. Inside there is an altar and a pulpit from the 19th century. A late Gothic carved altar from the 15th century is attached to the organ gallery.

Gralow: It was first mentioned in 1264. There was a brickworks here at the end of the 17th century and, a little later, a glassworks.

Good Katelbogen

Katelbogen: The first evidence in the place is the large stone grave of Katelbogen .
The Katelbogen estate was first mentioned in 1348. The owner was Theze von Zernin. In the late Middle Ages, a castle was probably used as a robber baron castle. In 1549 the Bützow monastery governor, Jürgen Wackerbarth, received the place as a monastery land. In 1606, 1634 and 1653 there are witch trials in Katelbogen . In 1631 Jürgen Wackerbarth pledged the Katelbogen estate including Sagsdorf to the Rostock citizen Joachim Lohrmann. A little later, the Wackerbarths finally lost their property. From 1662 to 1798, with a brief interruption, the estate was owned by the von Plessen family , followed by the von Plüskow family and, from 1856, the Jasmund family. The manor house dates from 1898 and was built for Fritz von Voss , who had owned the estate since 1895. Most recently, the estate belonged to the Barons von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen until 1945 , after Hilmar von dem Bussche-Haddenhausen acquired it. Between 1956 and 1991 an agricultural vocational school with boarding school was operated in the manor house . In the following years the building was privatized twice. Apartments and holiday quarters were built in the manor house.
In Katelbogen there was also a glassworks at the beginning of the 18th century . Katelbogen was incorporated on January 1, 1999.

Laase: It was first mentioned in 1248. The estate belongs to the von Stralendorff family . Lasse was incorporated on July 1, 1950.

Qualitz: Here is the large stone grave of Qualitz . The first mention of the place was in 1329. The incorporation took place on January 1, 1999.

Schependorf was first mentioned in 1339. Estates were u. a. the families von Lützow (until 1636), von Bülow (until 1699), von Schack (until 1750), von Kosboth (until 1779), Schröder, Lorenz (until 1803), Engel (until 1823), von Schnackenburg (until 1832) and Ortmann (until 1939). The manor house dates from around 1800 and has been a holiday home since 2002.

Wendorf was first mentioned in 1401. Wendorf was incorporated on July 1, 1950. The bridge over the Warnow near Wendorf was built in 1957.
