  • Ottawa / Canada : Michael Zehaf-Bibeau shoots a security guard at the national war memorial in Ottawa and then engages in a shootout with security forces in the Canadian parliament building, in which he dies.
  • Strasbourg / France : The European Parliament approved by a vote of conservatives, social democrats and large parts of the liberals, the new European Commission by President Juncker . Previously, he had to rebuild his team, as the Slovenian candidate had been rejected by two committees of the European Parliament. Juncker announces an investment program worth 300 million euros.
