Pont-Arcy is a French municipality with 127 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Aisne in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Soissons and the canton of Fère-en-Tardenois .

geography

Pont-Aisne lies between the Aisne and the Aisne Lateral Canal , 20 kilometers south of Laon and 30 kilometers northwest of Reims .

history

In the 12th century Pont-Arcy was owned by the Counts of Braine from the Capetian family , later by the Lords of Châtillon and then again by the Counts of Braine until the Revolution . The castle was conquered by the Huguenots in 1568 , retaken in 1590, and finally destroyed by the League the following year.
