The winner of the previous edition of the tournament was Andy Roddick , who did not participate in the tournament that year. In this year's individual final, Novak Đoković defeated the Russian Michail Juschny in three sets with 7: 5, 5: 7 and 6: 3. This was Đoković's twelfth career title on the ATP Tour. In doubles, Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles were the defending champions, they were eliminated in the quarter-finals this year. In the final, Rik De Voest and Dmitri Tursunow won against Martin Damm and Robert Lindstedt 4: 6, 6: 3, [10: 5].
