Saint-Sylvestre-et-Sainte-Colombe church

Colombiers ( Occitan : Colombièrs ) is a French commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region (previously Languedoc-Roussillon ). It has 2,484 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), which are called "Colombiérains" . Colombiers belongs to the arrondissement of Béziers and the canton of Cazouls-lès-Béziers (previously Béziers-3 ).

geography

Colombiers is located west of Béziers on the Canal du Midi . The now dry Étang de Montady , a former Mediterranean lagoon , lies on the northern municipal boundary . Colombiers is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montady in the north and west, Béziers in the east, Lespignan in the south and south-east and Nissan-lez-Enserune in the south.
