qualification

Qualification criteria

A total of 390 athletes will take part in the competitions, including 139 women and 218 men, as well as nine additional starting places reserved for the host's NOK and a further 24 quota places that the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) may award by invitation, primarily for NOKs who could not achieve quota places. A maximum of two athletes from a NOK are allowed to start per discipline, and only one athlete per discipline in women's target shooting . The maximum number of athletes in a NOK is therefore 28. Only athletes who have met the ISSF's Minimum Qualification Score (MQS) during the qualification period are allowed to take part in the competitions.

The qualification phase began with the 2010 World Championships in Munich , where a total of 69 quota places were awarded. For this, depending on the discipline, a place among the top three to six had to be achieved. The winners of the clay target world championships 2011 in Belgrade achieved five more quota places . At the World Cup in 2011, a further 136 quota places were awarded. For that, the athlete had to finish first or second. In the continental championships of 2011 and 2012, a further 15 quota places were awarded to Africa , 31 to America , 35 to Asia , 48 to Europe and 18 to Oceania . If an athlete had already won a quota place in a discipline and reached a place that guaranteed a quota place, this was passed on to the next shooter without a quota place.
