The Opel Grandland X is an SUV from the German car manufacturer Opel . The vehicle was presented in mid-April 2017 and had its public premiere at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main in September 2017.

General

The Grandland X reached dealers on October 21, 2017 at prices starting at 23,700 euros. The SUV will be developed and built together with the second generation of the Peugeot 3008 , with whom he is EMP2 - platform shares. Both models are built at the PSA plant in Sochaux , France . The Grandland X has been produced at Opel Eisenach since August 2019 . Production in Sochaux will be stopped due to the relocation of production at the end of 2019.

In the UK , the Grandland X is sold under the brand name Vauxhall .

From the end of 2019, the Grandland X (alongside the Zafira Life and Vivaro C ) will be the first Opel vehicle to be sold again in Russia after 2015 .

Cooperation with PSA

As early as December 2012, it became known that in addition to a small car and a van, the successor to the Opel Meriva B was being developed in cooperation with Groupe PSA . A year later it was announced that the cooperation in the small car segment would be given up, instead the cooperation would be expanded to light commercial vehicles in the B segment. After the Crossland X, the Grandland X is the second vehicle to come onto the market as a result of this cooperation. The SUV is based on the EMP2 platform, on which the second-generation Peugeot 3008 introduced in 2016 , the DS7 Crossback presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and the Citroën C5 Aircross are based.

Technical specifications

The Grandland X is offered with engines already known from the Peugeot 3008. The plug-in hybrid has also been available with all-wheel drive since the end of 2019 . A turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol engine with 133 kW (180 PS) was also introduced in July 2018.
