The district of Hofheim in Lower Franconia , officially the district of Hofheim i.UFr. , belonged to the Bavarian administrative district of Lower Franconia .
geography
In 1972 the district bordered in a clockwise direction in the northeast with the Hildburghausen district in the Suhl district of the German Democratic Republic and the Ebern , Haßfurt , Schweinfurt , Bad Kissingen and Königshofen districts in Grabfeld .
history
District Office
The Bavarian District Office was established in 1900 from parts of the Königshofen District Office in Grabfeld .
On July 1, 1920, the Hofheim district office in Lower Franconia was expanded to include the immediate city of Königsberg in Franconia and the municipalities of Altershausen , Dörflis , Erlsdorf , Hellingen , Köslau , Kottenbrunn and Nassach belonging to the Coburg district office . These were exclaves of the Free State of Coburg, which was incorporated into Bavaria .

On January 1, 1939, the uniform imperial designation Landkreis was introduced. The district office became the district of Hofheim in Lower Franconia.
As a result of the regional reform in Bavaria , the district was dissolved on July 1, 1972. The communities Altenmünster , Birnfeld , Fuchsstadt , Mailes , Oberlauringen , Stadtlauringen , Sulzdorf , Wettringen and Wetzhausen were incorporated into the district of Schweinfurt . All other communities came to the new Haßberg district , which was renamed the Haßberge district on May 1, 1973 .

License Plate
On July 1, 1956, the district was assigned the distinctive sign HOH when the license plates that are still valid today were introduced . It was issued until August 3, 1974. It has been available again in the Haßberge district since April 1, 2014 .
