Nathaniel Albertson

Nathaniel Albertson (born June 10, 1800 in Fairfax , Virginia , †  December 16, 1863 in Central City , Colorado ) was an American politician . Between 1849 and 1851 he represented the state of Indiana in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Nothing is known about Nathaniel Albertson's childhood, adolescence or schooling. He later moved to Salem , Indiana, where he worked in agriculture. From 1835 he lived in Greenville , where he also worked as a farmer. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1838 and 1840 he was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives .

In the congressional election of 1848 Albertson was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the first constituency of Indiana , where he succeeded Elisha Embree on March 4, 1849 . Since he was not re-elected in 1850, he could only serve one term in Congress until March 3, 1851 . After leaving the US House of Representatives, Albertson returned to farming. In 1853 he moved to Keokuk , Iowa , where he worked in commerce. In 1856 he came to Boonville , Missouri , where he also worked in commerce. Since 1860 Nathaniel Albertson lived in Central City, Colorado, where he worked in the mining and hotel business. He died there on December 16, 1863.
