Edward A. Pease

Edward Allan Pease (born May 22, 1951 in Terre Haute , Indiana ) is an American politician . Between 1997 and 2001 he represented the state of Indiana in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Edward Pease attended Gerstmeyer High School until 1969 and then studied law at Indiana University in Bloomington until 1977, among other things. He was director of the Wabash Valley division of the Boy Scouts of America . He was later awarded several medals for his work for this youth organization. In 1974 and 1975, Pease worked for the Indiana Attorney General . He then worked as a lawyer in Brazil . He also held some senior positions in university administration; so he was from 1993 to 1997 Vice President of Indiana State University .

Politically, Pease joined the Republican Party . Between 1980 and 1992 he was a member of the Indiana Senate . In the 1996 congressional elections , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the seventh constituency of his state , where he succeeded John T. Myers on January 3, 1997 . After being re-elected, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until January 3, 2001 . In Congress, Pease was a member of the Judiciary Committee . In this capacity he was involved in the failed impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton .

In 2000, Edward Pease renounced another candidacy. After leaving the US House of Representatives, he worked for the American subsidiary of Rolls-Royce . There he was responsible for relations with government agencies.
