Edward H. Kruse

Edward H. Kruse (born October 22, 1918 in Fort Wayne , Indiana , †  January 4, 2000 in Fort Lauderdale , Florida ) was an American politician . Between 1949 and 1951 he represented the state of Indiana in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Edward Kruse attended South Side High School in Fort Wayne until 1936 and then studied at Indiana University until 1942 . After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1942, he began to work in this profession. During World War II , he served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945 .

Politically, Kruse was a member of the Democratic Party . In the 1948 congressional election he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the fourth constituency of Indiana , where he succeeded George W. Gillie on January 3, 1949 . Since he was defeated by the Republican E. Ross Adair in 1950 , he could only serve one term in Congress until January 3, 1951 . After leaving the US House of Representatives, Edward Kruse served as a judge in Allen County . He has also worked in the banking industry and as a financial advisor and as a private businessman. He died on January 4, 2000 in Fort Lauderdale.
