She's Gone is a pop rock song written by British rock and pop musicians Eric Clapton and Simon Climie . The title was released on March 10, 1998 on Clapton's studio album Pilgrim . The publishing rights are shared by the Universal (Universal Polygram International Publishing) and Warner Music Group (WB Music).

The piece is in the original key of E minor . The song was recorded at Ocean Way Studios, Los Angeles , and Olympic Studios in London . Eric Clapton acted as guitarist and singer on the recording. He was accompanied by Nathan East on bass , Greg Phillinganes on keyboard and Tony Rich , who contributed background vocals . The drum programming took Paul Waller.

Reception, charts, publications

Critic Natalie Nichols of the Los Angeles Times found that some Clapton " bluesy Stratocaster - Licks " used on the piece so that it "bad Pilgrim title" trivializing the rest. She described the piece as " funky ". Chicago Tribune music journalist Greg Kot sees the song as a blues title. The release was ranked 18th on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart and stayed in the charts for a total of 15 weeks. A live rendition of the piece was released on One More Car, One More Rider in 2002 .
