The noble Bauffremont family originally came from Beaufremont.

Beaufremont is located between the towns of Neufchâteau and Vittel . Beaufremont is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Landaville in the north, Aulnois in the east, Hagnéville-et-Roncourt in the south-east, Malaincourt in the south, Gendreville in the south-west and Jainvillotte and Lemmecourt in the west.
