The name Fouchecourt first appeared in 1172. At that time the village was part of the Bassigny Bailiwick ; later owned by the city of Lamarche , the village belonged to the Duchy of Bar . In Fouchécourt there was a Benedictine priory as a branch of the Luxeuil Abbey .
