Frain is a French commune with 129 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It is part of the Neufchâteau arrondissement and the Vosges Côté Sud Ouest community association founded in 2017 .

geography

Frain is about 15 kilometers south of Vittel . The Ruisseau du Vilain Rupt , which has its source in Frain, is a tributary of the upper Saône . Frain is surrounded by the neighboring communities Serocourt in the north and east, Tignécourt in the south-east, Morizécourt in the south-west and Martigny-les-Bains in the north-west.

Economy and Infrastructure

There are eight farms in the community (dairy, cattle and goose breeding).

The D 21 road from Martigny-les-Bains to Bleurville runs through Frain . 20 kilometers west of Frain there is a connection to the A 31 autoroute from Toul to Dijon . The station in the commune of Martigny-les-Bains, five kilometers away, is on the Merrey – Hymont-Mattaincourt railway line, which is no longer used by passengers .
