Saint-Baslemont is a French commune with 80 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It is located in the canton of Darney in the Neufchâteau arrondissement . The inhabitants call themselves "Saint-Baslemontais".

history

The name of the place goes back to Saint Basolus von Verzy (French Saint-Basle).

In 1635 the castle of Saint-Baslemont was besieged by the Swedes during the Thirty Years' War and defended by Madame de Saint-Baslemont , the "Christian Amazon".
