Mairie Villotte

Villotte is a French commune with 153 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Vosges department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement Neufchâteau and the municipality association Vosges Côté Sud Ouest .

geography

The municipality is located on the upper reaches of the Mouzon River , about 20 kilometers southwest of Vittel in the Monts Faucilles . Neighboring municipalities of Villotte are Martigny-les-Bains in the north and northeast, Lamarche in the south, Tollaincourt in the southwest, Rocourt in the west and Blevaincourt and Sauville in the northwest.

history

The municipality of Villotte has existed in its current form since 1793. The village church dates from 1731, but it was soon too small for the population. It was enlarged in 1848 and renovated several times afterwards. The church is known for its stained glass windows. The first glass windows were installed in 1897 - with the motifs of Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of the Rosary . Other windows symbolize the death of two priests in the village.

Economy and Infrastructure

Four farms are located in the municipality (seed farm, breeding of cattle, goats and sheep).

Villotte is connected to its neighboring communities by back roads. Near Robécourt , ten kilometers north-west of Villotte, there is a connection to the A 31 autoroute from Nancy to Langres . Lamarche train station, only one kilometer from Villotte, is on the Merrey – Hymont-Mattaincourt railway line .
