Beauvallon is a French commune in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lyon and is part of the cantons of Mornant and Saint-Symphorien-d'Ozon . Beauvallon has 4,013 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), who are called Beauvallonnais . The municipality was created on January 1, 2018 through the merger of Chassagny , Saint-Andéol-le-Château and Saint-Jean-de-Touslas .

Beauvallon is located about 22 kilometers south-southwest of Lyon . Beauvallon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mornant in the north and north-west, Saint-Laurent-d'Agny in the north, Taluyers in the north and north-east, Montagny in the north-east, Givors in the east, Saint-Romain-en-Gier in the south and south-east, Dargoire in the South, Tartaras in the south and southwest and Chabanière in the west.

Beauvallon is part of the Coteaux du Lyonnais wine region .
