It belongs to the arrondissement of Lyon and is part of the cantons of Mornant and Saint-Symphorien-d'Ozon . Beauvallon has 4,013 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), who are called Beauvallonnais . The municipality was created on January 1, 2018 through the merger of Chassagny , Saint-Andéol-le-Château and Saint-Jean-de-Touslas .
