The Copa del Generalísimo 1975/76 was the 72nd edition of the Spanish soccer cup competition , which takes place today under the name Copa del Rey .
The competition started on October 11, 1975 and ended with the final on July 5, 1976 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid . The defending champion of the cup competition was Real Madrid . Atlético Madrid won the title with a 1-0 win in the final against Real Zaragoza . The Madrilenians qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1976/77 .
