Economic Motors

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Economic Motors was a British manufacturer of cycle cars and motorcycles based on Wells Street in London W1.

Cyclecar

There are different details about the construction time: either from 1920 to 1921 or from 1921 to 1922.

The only model was a three-wheeled vehicle which, at just £ 60, was certainly the cheapest British automobile of its time.

The car had a single front wheel and no suspension, so the flexibility of the tires and the ash wood frame alone dampened any potholes. The two-seater structure was kept very simple and had no windshield or weather protection.

An air-cooled two-stroke - boxer engine with 165 cc powered via a two-speed friction gear with a reverse gear and a chain to the right rear wheel. The car is said to have reached a top speed of 48 km / h. The weight was only 68 kg.

motorcycle

A motorcycle with the same engine and also with a friction gear was sold for £ 28 Sh. 10 offered.
