Edward Burnett

Edward Burnett (born March 16, 1849 in Boston , Massachusetts , †  November 5, 1925 in Milton , Massachusetts) was an American politician . Between 1887 and 1889 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Edward Burnett attended St. Paul's School and then until 1867 St. Mark's School in Southboro . This was followed by studies at Harvard University until 1871 . He then worked in agriculture near Southboro. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . In the congressional elections of 1886 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the ninth constituency of Massachusetts , where he succeeded Frederick D. Ely on March 4, 1887 . Since he was not confirmed in 1888, he could only complete one legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1889 .

Between 1892 and 1900 was Burnett General of Flosham Farms in Madison ( New Jersey ); from 1900 until his death he worked as a farm architect in New York City . He died in Milton on November 5, 1925 and was buried in Southboro.
