Michael Joseph McEttrick (born June 22, 1848 in Roxbury , Massachusetts , †  December 31, 1921 in Boston , Massachusetts) was an American politician . Between 1893 and 1895 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Michael McEttrick attended Washington Grammar School and Roxbury Latin School . Then he worked as a journalist. In 1884 he worked as an assistant assessor for the Boston City Council. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1885 and 1891 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Massachusetts , where he headed the Democratic Group. In 1892 he was a member of the State Senate .

In the congressional elections of 1892 McEttrick was elected as an independent Democrat in the tenth constituency of Massachusetts to the House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Joseph H. Walker on March 4, 1893 . Since he was no longer nominated for re-election in 1894, he could only serve one term in Congress until March 3, 1895 . In 1906, 1907 and 1913 he was again a member of the House of Representatives from Massachusetts; in 1908 he returned to the State Senate. At the time, he was working in the real estate industry in Boston. Michael McEttrick also died in this city on December 31, 1921.
