Charles Q. Tirrell

Charles Quincy Tirrell (born December 10, 1844 in Sharon , Norfolk County , Massachusetts , †  July 31, 1910 in Natick , Massachusetts) was an American politician . Between 1901 and 1910 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Charles Tirrell attended the public schools of his home country and then until 1866 the Dartmouth College in Hanover ( New Hampshire ). He then worked as a teacher at various schools for three years. After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1870, he began to practice this profession in Boston . At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1872 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Massachusetts ; between 1881 and 1882 he was a member of the State Senate . From 1873 he lived in Natick.

In the 1900 congressional elections , Tirrell was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the fourth constituency of Massachusetts , where he succeeded George W. Weymouth on March 4, 1901 . After four re-elections, he could remain in Congress until his death on July 31, 1910 .
