William W. Warren

William Wirt Warren (born February 27, 1834 in Boston , Massachusetts , †  May 2, 1880 ibid) was an American politician . Between 1875 and 1877 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the US House of Representatives .

Career

After a good primary school education, William Warren studied at Harvard University until 1856 . After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1857, he began to work in this profession. In 1865 he worked for the Tax Department in the Seventh Financial District of Massachusetts. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . In July 1868 he was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in New York ; in 1870 he was elected to the Massachusetts Senate.

In the congressional election of 1874 , Warren was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the eighth constituency of Massachusetts , where he succeeded John MS Williams on March 4, 1875 . Since he was not confirmed in 1876, he could only serve one term in Congress until March 3, 1877 . After his tenure in the US House of Representatives, Warren practiced as a lawyer in Boston, where he died on May 2, 1880.
