Rodney Wallace (politician)

Rodney Wallace (born December 21, 1823 in New Ipswich , Hillsborough County , New Hampshire , †  February 27, 1903 in Fitchburg , Massachusetts ) was an American politician . Between 1889 and 1891 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Rodney Wallace attended public schools in his home country and then worked in papermaking . He later embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1864, 1865 and 1867 he was a member of the Fitchburg parish council. In 1873 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Massachusetts ; between 1880 and 1882 he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Governor of Massachusetts.

In the congressional election of 1888 Wallace was elected to the Eleventh constituency of Massachusetts in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded William Whiting on March 4, 1889 . Since he refused to run again in 1890, he could only complete one legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1891 . After his tenure in the US House of Representatives, Rodney Wallace returned to papermaking. He died on February 27, 1903 in Fitchburg, where he was also buried.
