Robert M. Leach

Robert Milton Leach (born April 2, 1879 in Franklin , New Hampshire , †  February 18, 1952 in Eustis , Florida ) was an American politician . In 1924 and 1925 he represented the state of Massachusetts in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Robert Leach attended the public schools of his home country and then the Phillips Exeter Academy and Dartmouth College . In 1900 he moved to Taunton , Massachusetts, where he worked in the furniture trade . Soon he was running a chain of furniture stores in New England . During the First World War he was an orderly officer in the US Army with the rank of captain. Politically, he joined the Republican Party .

After the death of MP William S. Greene , Leach was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he took up his new mandate on November 4, 1924 when the by-election was due for the 15th seat of Massachusetts . Since he was no longer running in the regular congressional elections of 1924 , he was only able to end the current legislative period in Congress until March 3, 1925 .

After his tenure in the US House of Representatives, Robert Leach resumed his previous activities. He died on February 18, 1952 in Eustis and was buried in his birthplace, Franklin.
